2026

We are sorry to announce the sad passing of Jack Hailwood. Jack was an inspiration his positive attitude and his determination to continue in the face of adversity is an example to us all. He was a real character who always had a joke to tell, however not all would be repeatable in mixed company! He was a very good, competitive bowler and represented the club as a lead over many years. Well into his nineties he was still able to threaten the jack consistently in social bowling. Jack personified the club’s ethos, a sporting gentleman (jokes excepted). You will be sorely missed Jack, RIP.

After another epic encounter (?) the 2024 Arthur Carter Trophy was won by
the Captain’s team over the President’s team.

We are extremely sad to report that Doug ‘bring the mat up’ Bucknall passed away on Friday, 9th February 2024. Born on 22nd September 1929, Doug was a well-loved gentleman and had been an integral member of the club for many years. As recently as 2023 he was a winning team member in 2 competitions. He will be sorely missed.
